- About Ahhhhs
Artistic, Hexotic, Hectic, Hillbilly Hexagons got their start in October 2011 when I saw English Paper Piecing hexagons sweeping the quilt world...and I knew that I had to try something 'more'.
I started with researching old quilt blocks from old public domain patterns and I used my blog to share with the world on how to draft these blocks for English Paper Piecing. I also had a naming contest to see what we should name these hexagon blocks. Not being able to choose one winner, I combined the choices into one name: Ahhhhhs.
With each new ahhhhh I started dreaming of having perfect die cut templates like are offered at PaperPieces.com.
In time I just did the smart thing: I contacted them! They were very willing to work with me and even better, already had a huge file of 100 divided hexagons to work from. So, one year later, in October 2012, Ahhhh pieces were developed.
At current time we are still releasing new ahhhhs. I release new once once a month and all are available for purchase here on the AHHHHs page. I update the page monthly as the Ahhhhs are released.
What do you get when you buy an Ahhhh?
The Artistic, Hexotic, Hectic, Hillbilly Hexagons...or Ahhhhs.... are English Paper Piecing templates.
Each of my hexagon patterns are 3" on a side or 6" across.
When you purchase you will receive a baggy with the pieces to make one Ahhhh and a diagram of that design.
Instructions provided by Paper Pieces is included.
I've had people tell me it is less expensive to buy all the pieces and make them yourselves, and while that is true, I have put a lot of time into my designs and by purchasing you are essentially paying for the pattern as well, and I appreciate that very much!
If you have any questions feel free to ask, and be sure to check out the videos. I'll many more planned!
